New Toy

I've got a brand new toy

A feeling of wonderful joy

To push it and roll it

And gleefully show it

To friends as they walk in the door

And sleeping at night

When out go the lights

It nestles in bed

By my slumbering head.

It's sad that it takes

So little to break

To bash it and smash it

And totally trash it

And leave it in pieces

All over the floor.

Oh well, that was dumb

But a new one will come

Bringing joy for a few hours more.

As you go down

To touch the ground
